Pedro Salles was born in 1972 in Aveiro, Portugal, where he currently lives and works. Between 2004 and 2016, he lived and worked in Madrid, Berlin, and Oliveira do Hospital. Salles began his artistic studies at José Estêvão High School in Aveiro, and further honed his skills at Gulbenkian-Acav, Arca-Etac, FBAP, and ultimately completed his BA and MA at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, USA.
