Thirteen Series
1 Artworks . 1 Artists
My artistic practice explores the relationship between texture, movement, and transformation through mixed media. By combining Clay, Acrylic Paint and Resin, I create dynamic, layered surfaces that invite tactile engagement and visual intrigue. The use of a circular spinning lazy susan allows this art to shift perspectives, offering viewers a constantly evolving experience that mirrors the fluid nature of the materials. The art can be spun or re-positioned to create a new dynamic image. It emphasizes the themes of change and perception, encouraging a deeper exploration of form and texture from multiple angles. Each piece in the “Thirteen Series” is named after a four-digit number, with all the digits adding up to 13. For centuries, the number 13 has been considered unlucky, steeped in superstition and intrigue. By incorporating this number into the series, I aim to reclaim and reinterpret it, transforming its negative connotations into a symbol of creativity and exploration. Each four-digit name is not merely a label but a part of the art itself, a coded invitation to look deeper and consider the interplay of chance, meaning, and interpretation.
